(This is an update: I mounted the ordnance on top of the fort. Added two photos at the end of the fort pictures.)
I found this beautiful 3D fort on Thingyverse for free the other day and printed it. It has just taken a day to complete. Here are two shots of the real fort:
This next one is a painting of the fort as it would have looked around the 1793 period.
And now the completed model
I mounted some 32 pounder long guns on top of the fort:
I am still waiting for my daughter to sculpt the balrog for her birthday book nook. So while I'm waiting I am looking for quick things to do. I downloaded another freebie castle/fort so I may do that, or maybe a small ship like Bounty. Here's a sneak peak of the Khazad Dum nook.

Oooohhhhh. I see the famous bridge that shall not be passed…she’s gonna sculpt the Balrog? That awesome. Now that I think on it, I probably have a suitable Gandalf miniature around here that you can have if ya want. 28mm GW one.
Oh, and nice job on the fort too I guess. lolol. 😀😀
Ok. Serious question: how big is it? I can’t immediately tell.
Thanks, I think......
The fort & island is 5 inches long and the fort itself is about 3-1/2", add the drawbridge platform makes it 4".
I already purchased the GW Gandalf from ebay Stew but many thanks for the offer. I gave him to my daughter for a size reference. I'm experimenting with the lights now trying to figure out how to light the whip and swords. Plus printing ships, haha. Printed Victory & London yesterday, St Pavel today.
Great looking fort and your new venture into nooks is really impressive!
Best Iain
Thanks Iain, this fort was fun. I just finished the Khazad Dum booknook today. But probably won't get it posted until tomorrow evening.

Vol
