In my last post I started this booknook of Shadar Logoth, the cursed and closed city featured in the first book and season of The Wheel of Time. The book is entitled "The Eye of the World" by Robert Jordan. The video series is on Prime, and the heroes enter Shadar Logoth in episode 2 of season 1. I generally like to do full build posts. Since I have already included the early stages in my previous post, I will start with the finished work, and then include the steps where I broke off in the previous post.
Carving the facia moulding using a template I found on the internet. |
The front is attached to the slide-in nook itself. when fully inserted, it closes the case.
The case, 5/8" plywood bottom and heavy condensed 1/4" paperboard sides, back, and top. |
Painted with a textured stone spray paint. The picture is glued on and decoupaged with gloss ModPodge |
Here are some screen shots from the show of the city and characters:

Beautifully done Vol. The finished article looks much deeper when viewed through the front as opposed to the external side view, so you really have achieved a great sense of depth. Terrific work.
Thank you Lawrence. I attempted a forced perspective technique. I guess it worked!
That turned out very well! Hopefully it is appreciated.
Thanks David, I hope so too.
